Mission Hills: The Largest Golf Resort in the World

Mission Hills Golf Resort is located near the town of Shenzhen in the People’s Republic of China. It boasts 11 regulation 18 hole golf courses and one par 3 course.  Mission Hills surpassed Pinehurst in 2004 as the largest golf facility in the world according to the Guiness Book of World Records.

The 12 courses offer 216 holes of diverse golfing perils and all of the courses have different designers comprised from a list of Who’s Who in World of Golf including:

Mission Hills Golf Club was established in 1992 and has hosted over 50 international golf events.  It hosted the Omega World Cup from 2007 to 2009.

The Shenzhen area has a predominantly subtropical marine climate with average temperatures in the 72 degree range making the area perfect for golf outings and getaways.  Temperatures average in the mid to high 80’s during the summer months, May through October.

During the rest of the year temperatures rarely dip below 68 degrees in the daytime hours and seldom reach 54 degrees at night.  June – August are the rainy months with average rain levels throughout the balance of the year.
